Canadian firm buying Houston's Tucker Energy – Chron
Calgary-based Step Energy Services said it is buying Houston's Tucker Energy Services for $275 million to establish a foothold in the U.S. shale business.
Privately owned Tucker is headquartered in North Houston, but it's primary operations are in Oklahoma's shale oil and gas developments. Tucker brings with it four hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, crews and many other oilfield services offerings.
"The acquisition of Tucker provides Step with a launching pad into the U.S. fracturing market with established exposure to high-growth plays such as the SCOOP/STACK and Woodford (all in Oklahoma) and a loyal, high-quality client base," said Step CEO said Regan Davis.
