'Property Brothers' vs. Chip and Joanna Gaines: The feud is over – Chron.com
Jonathan and Drew attended the University of Calgary. The brothers assumed the lease of a rental property near campus during their first semester and eventually flipped it or a $50,000 profit.
In 2015, Anthony Carrino (L) and John Colaneri, who were the stars of HGTV's "Kitchen Cousins and America's Most Desperate Kitchens" both filed individually for bankruptcy after a New Jersey couple sued and won a $857,894 judgement for an alleged "shoddy home renovation."
It's all one big happy family at HGTV. Whew.
The stars of "Property Brothers" and its spin-off, "Brother vs. Brother" are putting the rumors to rest that they in a rivalry with "Fixer Upper" stars Chip and Joanna Gaines.
In a New York Times article that came out earlier this month, Drew and Jonathan Scott, 39, revealed that they reached out to the Gaineses to come to Galveston and film an episode of "Brother vs. Brother." The collaboration was a no-go, though, because the Gaineses were busy.

Drew Scott explained that audiences love the "Fixer Upper" stars, and that their fans wanted them to do something together. The Gaines' rejection just seemed difficult to fathom.
However, ahead of the Wednesday, May 31, premiere of the newest season of "Brother vs. Brother," which was taped on the Texas Gulf Coast, Drew Scott offered a positive explanation to Fox News.
"We're one big family, which is why we love bringing [fellow HGTV stars] in to judge us. ... We know a lot of the [HGTV] talent really well. Our show started airing in 2011 and over that time we've met [Chip and Joanna] once or twice. They were really nice."
Although a Drew and Jonathan Scott and Chip and Joanna Gaines collaboration in Galveston would have been out of this world for HGTV lovers, there's hope that the duos will unite at some point in the future.
